As some of you may already know, I’ve been an aurora chaser for the past couple of years. I’m so enthralled by this wonderful light show that I’ve dedicated a substantial section of this web site to information and tools to forecast the aurora.
Opportunities to shoot it have been limited for me. It takes at least a Kp 4 aurora to be well visible from my location in southeastern Ontario, Canada. When they do flare up enough to be readily visible here, they’re usually quite impressive. But that said, it makes me really miss my pre-teen youth years when I grew up in the sub-arctic tundra of northern Quebec where aurora was an almost daily occurence.
